What is Nourish on Wheels?
Bringing Fresh, Healthy Food to Local Communities
Nourish on Wheels (NoW) is a mobile food and wellness initiative dedicated to making nutritious, high-quality food accessible to all residents of Kossuth County. We aim to elevate health and create a new American Food Culture by directly delivering locally grown, nutrient-rich produce and products to neighborhoods. By eliminating the need for long trips to the grocery store and reducing reliance on processed foods, NoW empowers families and individuals to make healthier, delicious choices by providing convenient, affordable access to wholesome food options.
Bridging the Gap in Food Access
Nourish on Wheels addresses food insecurity in Kossuth County by directly delivering nutrient-dense, naturally grown, organic meals to local communities. With 1,260 county residents facing food insecurity and many more facing challenges to readily find clean, nutritious, unprocessed products, this mobile food distribution program will overcome rural access barriers and prioritize chemical-free, high-quality nutrition for all residents.
Community-Driven and Sustainable
Nourish on Wheels thrives on the energy and commitment of local volunteers, community groups, and strategic partners. Alignment with local farmers, nonprofits, and health organizations, the program ensures sustainable sourcing while supporting the regional food system.
With initial support from grants and in-kind contributions, our initiative aims to deliver food and promote nutrition education, engagement, and long-term improvements in community health. By working together, we’re creating a sustainable model that supports local producers and inspires positive change in food policies and grocery offerings.
