Anita Panjwani MPH, Ph.D,'s research goal is to improve the health span of individuals by addressing issues of access to and palatability of nutrient-rich and therapeutic foods. She studies the efficacy of anti-inflammatory phytochemicals for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and neuropsychiatric disorders. Given the importance of the successful incorporation in the diet of these compounds, she is also interested in sensory-related ingestive behaviors that are particularly challenging for many individuals with neuropsychiatric disorders. Dr. Panjwani believes plant-based therapies are a “green” solution that are translatable in low-resource settings, reaching those in most need.
